Gilbert Thomas Calico age 94, widower of Zella Wallace Calico, died Monday Nov. 20, 2017 at Kings Mountain, KY. Gilbert was the son of the late Lionel and Nannie Day Calico, he was a World War II veteran of the US Navy and a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Berea. Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Zella Calico, his daughter Naomi Roslynn, his granddaughter Debbie Calico and two brothers.
Gilbert is survived by his son Orville (Carolyn) Calico, his grandson Jeff Calico, and great grandson Cameron Calico. Funeral services will be Saturday Nov. 25, 2017 at 11 am at Lakes Funeral Home, with Rev. Kenny Davis and Rev. Jeff Duncan officiating. Burial will be in the Berea Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dale Croucher, Woody Berry, Cameron Calico, Edward Gaynor, Scotty Rowlette, and Alan Gadberry. Visitation will be Friday Nov. 24, 2017 from 6-9 pm at Lakes Funeral Home.
