Obituary for James M. Carpenter

James M.  Carpenter
James M. Carpenter age 79, went to his heavenly home while surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday evening at Hospice Compassionate Care Center.
James was born in Madison County to the late Anderson and Annie B. Carpenter. He was a retired Berea College electrician and member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six siblings Glendon Carpenter, Hazel Carpenter, Mamie Powell, Allison Carpenter, Vinson Carpenter and Coleman Carpenter.
He is survived by his loving wife Etta Cox Carpenter; three sons, Ricky Marshall (Teresa) Carpenter, Randall Lee (Laura) Carpenter, and Ronnie Dale Carpenter; five siblings, Zada (O.P.) Naylor, Newt (Henrietta) Carpenter, Marie (Danny) Powell, Cron (Delores) Carpenter and Luther (Wilma) Carpenter; four grandchildren Heather (Todd) Wilson, Derek (Leikka) Carpenter, Leslie Carpenter, and Sarah (Ryan) Baker; two great grandchildren Allie and Eli Wilson; one brother-in-law, Les Powell; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday, October 17, 2016 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Reed officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5-9 pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Carpenter, David Carpenter, Derek Carpenter, Todd Wilson, Ryan Baker, and Logan Frazier. Honorary bearers will be Ronnie Carpenter, Randy Carpenter and all of his nephews.
