Obituary for Mildred A. McCollum (Anderkin)

Mildred A.  McCollum (Anderkin)
Mildred McCollum, age 87, of McCollum Road in Mt. Vernon, passed away, Monday, May 29, 2017 at her home.
Mildred was born in Rockcastle County to the late Arthur and Mary Saylor Anderkin. She was a retired dietician aide at Berea Hospital and a member of the Valley Baptist Church.
She was a loving mom, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She had a heart of gold and loved being with her family. She was loved and known by all as mamaw.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her loving husband Roy McCollum, one daughter Marcella Coffey, five brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by her five children, Mary (Bobby) Smith of Paint Lick, Roy McCollum, Johnny (Carol) McCollum, Robby (Gina) McCollum, and Rita (Joe) McIntosh all of Berea; one sister Margie Malone of Mt. Vernon; 13 grandchildren Penny Edwards, Donnie Coffey, Jenny Tracey, Janie King, Kenny Smith, Kathy Hume, Roy Edward McCollum, Marvin McCollum, Shawna Beckwith, David McCollum, Kendra Rodriguez, Brandon McIntosh, and Timothy McIntosh; 25 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1pm, Friday, June 2, 2017 at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Felty and Rev. Tony Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in the Scaffold Cane Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-9 pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be her great grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be the rest of the great grandchildren.
