Peggy Jean Smith age 63, died Wednesday Nov 1, 2017 of injuries sustained in a car accident. Peggy had been a Nurse’s Aide at Pattie A Clay hospital for many years, and she was a member of the Victory Tabernacle Church of God in Richmond. Peggy was the daughter of the late Earl and Marie Gibbs Richardson; she was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Smith and her husband and father of her children Verlis Johnson.
Peggy is survived by her children: Micky (Tenille) Johnson, and Kelly (Granville) Gambrel, her brothers Mason Richardson and Sherman Richardson, her sisters; Denise Jefferson, Eula Oliver and Judy Graham, and her grandchildren Maddox Johnson, Lexie May, and Logan Gambrel.
Funeral services will be Monday Nov. 6, 2017 at 1 pm with Geral Richardson officiating, burial will be in the Berea Cemetery. Visitation will also be Monday at 11 am until service time. Online condolences can be made at www.lakesfuneralhome.com.
