Obituary for Julian Shane McKinney

Julian Shane McKinney
Shane McKinney age 46, son of Buddy and Wathena McKinney, died Thursday Jan. 25, 2018 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington. Shane was a EKU graduate, a member of Kentucky Crafts, a weaver and artist. He was an employee of UK Medicine as a Pharmacy Technician. Shane was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents: Roy Lee and Edith McKinney and maternal grandparents: Norma and Fred Smyth, his aunts: Ruth McKinney, Eva Marie McKinney, Virginia (MA) Slusher, Mildred (Ralph) Mayne, and Mable McKinney, his uncles: Thomas McKinney, Mac McKinney, James McKinney, Harlow (Ann) McKinney.

Shane is survived by his parents Charles ‘Buddy’ and Wathena Smyth McKinney, his Aunt Elwanda Allen, uncles Lyndon Smyth, and Elwood (Reva) Smyth, and his first cousins: Ratonya Allen, Dedra Chaney, Heather Howser, Shannon Smyth, Robin Smyth, Joyce Slusher, Gordon (Judy) Slusher, Louise (Rob) Grinnell, Connie (Paul) Newman, Sherri (Bill) Miller, Dawn and Mike Demayo, Jay Mayne, Mike McKinney, Joel (Sandra) McKinney, and special cousin Kevin Slusher.

Funeral services will be Jan. 29, 2018 at 2 pm at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Lakes officiating. Burial will be in the Madison County Memorial Gardens, pallbearers will be Martin Ramsey, Lee Roberson, Kevin Slusher, James Leach, Lewis Sparks, Mike McKinney and Joel McKinney. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Ramsey, Maggie Ciolek, Karen Gleason, Leslye Leonard, Nancy Leach, Connie Roberson, Betty Ballard, and Bethal Lee Parker.
