Condolence From: Bill Weir
Condolence: I got to know Bob Cox in the late 1960s and early 1970s when I was assistant scoutmaster of Troop 51. Bob had a natural talent to bring out the best in the boys and inspire them to do well in life. Bob made many sacrifices with his time and precious vacations to lead our weekly scout meetings at Union Church and go on weekend camping trips and yearly visits to Camp McKee. We had a lot of fun together! I did fail to get him to stop smoking, but then I failed with every smoker that I tried to convince to quit.
My condolences to the large family, some of whom were boy scouts as well.

Condolence From: Mark A. Pross
Condolence: I was so saddened to learn of the death of Bobby Cox. He was my Scoutmaster in Troop 51 at Union Church in Berea 50 years ago. Under Bobby's leadership, Troop 51 grew to some 50 Scouts and became the best Boy Scout troop in the Bluegrass Council in central Kentucky and one of the best troops in Region IV (Kentucky, West Virginia, and Ohio). He helped me achieve my Eagle Scout Award in 1968 and that of many other boys in subsequent years. Some of my fondest memories in the late 1960s and early 1970s are our many camping trips, hikes, camporees, and summer camp at McKee Scout Reservation near Mt. Sterling. Bobby enjoyed watching "his boys" become young men. The moral compass, leadership skills, and guidance he gave me a half century ago still influence my life today. I admired and respected Bobby Cox and called him my friend. I will miss him greatly. My condolences and deepest sympathy to Bobby's wife, children, grandchildren, and all of his extended family and friends. Goodbye, my dear friend. From Mark Pross, Warrenton, Virginia.
